In other news from Canada:Canadian authorities retrieved over 700 barrels of maple syrup linked to the massive maple syrup heist in Quebec.Sergeant Preston would be proud.
I like the news from Canada better than the news from the US. Thumbs up

I wonder if Yukon King is with Sergeant Preston at the arrest. Anybody wants
to watch some episodes I have some in Ajijic. A little better image than Dudley
Doright from the Bullwinkle folks but they are both about the same level of
complexity in plot none.

On King!!!!

He he he

B.C.'s Cowichan River in danger of drying up.

The Cowichan River could run bone dry before the end of the month if rain doesn't start falling by the bucketful, raising concerns for environmentalists, municipal officials and representatives of the nearby paper mill.

The record-breaking drought could drastically impede spawning salmon runs, put the local pulp mill's operations in jeopardy and even affect the village of Crofton's water supply, says a local sport fisherman and longtime champion of the Cowichan river ecosystem on Vancouver Island.

Or vice versa according to the picture of the Cowichin River. Beautiful picture.

I didn't used to believe in Global Warming, but I'm beginning to.

Oh Please!! The Cowichan is a piss-ass little sport fishing river on the southern half of Vancouver Island. I'm thinking more about the Columbia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_River.

GBATRUCKS:

I don't get your point. As near as I can tell from reading up on the Columbia River Basin both in Canada and the US, the two countries have done a fairly credible job of cooperative management of the water. In fact, most of the damage done to the Columbia River Basin has been due to irresponsible management on the US side of the border. An even better example of US mismangement of a river is the Colorado River Basin, which affects a far larger geographic area.

Neil...I consider the Colorado pretty much a lost cause. The demands on it have already taxed it to the max. More people, demands for power and food, will make the situation worse. The Columbia has been a great example of success...growing up in Washington state, I'm very familiar with how it changed the character of the whole region. I'm just saying that in the future water will be the most precious thing on earth...Canada has it, we're gonna want it...Aint gonna be cheap.
