Another good product is the turtle wax scratch remover. I used it when i had my 79 trans am and it made the 15 yr. old paint look like new, and beaded the water really well. Just drop me a line if you want some help with your car.
Trevor, I am in AZ., now. Which maguires do you recommend? Paste runs $25.00, liquid is less quantity, $14.00?
Thanks again,

Although I'm not Trevor, Meguiar's paste wax is always better. Worth the effort. But here's how to make it last, wash it ONLY with the special car soaps out there like Dupont Car Wash flakes.

Jim:
Not trying to be a smart ass here but when it comes to car wax, furniture wax and most any other project requiring wax, the most difficult route tends to produce the best results. Paste wax generally produces the best results. You might check at Auto Zone or one of the other auto stores for a special on an electric buffing unit. You should be able to teach your person of choice to do a decent job while consuming cervezas!

Don't choke on the prices you asked for good stuff.

Zed, a can of paste wax is $25.99 @ auto zone, same wax is 19.99 @ Walmart! I wonder what it costs @ autozone, GDL? Anyway, bringing some back!

Re: Car Wax....Really
Waxing a car is a mufti-step process, based on the condition of the paint.
1)wash 2)cleaner/prep (based on paint condition) 3) Polish (based on paint condition) 4) Wax/Protect
Most people don't want to spend the time doing all of the above, so they use a multi product that does some of items 2, 3 and 4 in one product.
When I was in the car club we used
Gold Class™ Carnauba Plus Liquid Wax
which did a bit of all clean/polish/wax, however the main function was to wax/protect the paint.

A buddy of mine, who did stereo and car starter installs for 20 years or so, once told me
" you can always tell a guys car from a gals car "
the guys car wuz spotless.... whereas the gals car had crap all around... stuff in the glove compartment, between the seats, on the floor, on the dash...
Ed surmised, gals probably tired from clean'n the house couldnt care less about their car...but, the guys
" thatz muh ride man!!"

Yeah inquiring minds want to know... did you ever find the Meguiars? That IS the best. If not any wax with carnauba listed as one of the main ingredients.

Auto Zone GDL has Meguiars liquid only, around 190 pesos. Really surprised how easy it was/is to apply and buff.

FERNANDO'S, couple of doors down from Casa de Waffle. Excellent work, very knowledgeable and VERY reasonable. I got a quote of $800 pesos to do my Pathfinder. 3 step process. Polish, glaze & hand-wax. Looking forward to having it done next week.
