Ain't that true! I remember when the song came out and my father and mother were
twisting and laughing. And my parents are as white as you get culturally wise. Never
saw them dance ever again. My parents thought the Monster Mash funny also and my
father would lip sync his best Franky voice. Itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot
bikini would crack up my PHd father for some reason also. The rest of the time he
would play bagpipe music or marching band music. No dancing there. Look up white
guy in the dictionary and there is a picture of my father LOL. Oh yea I forgot he would
go around the house with his trumpet playing a march from Aida. So much for wildness
in my family growing up. Not putting him down at all just who he was my Mom was a
little more adventurous.

I remember learning to Twist as a freshman in college. We had a very large Navajo woman living down the hall (she threw shot-put on the track team) who decided we needed to learn to Twist correctly. She would put one hand on your shoulder and the other on your hip and by damn we learned.
