Driving to Oaxaca City from the North

When we drove to Oaxaca on Aug. 12, it was kind of an ugly and dreary day but one couldn't help but be impressed by the scenery when driving on the cuota through what I believe were the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca Mountains. Note: if someone has a correction of this assumption, I would appreciate clarification.


Having read some of the Dawg's renditions about the drivers in Oaxaca, I admit to being a bit apprehensive when we departed the cuota and actually started heading into Oaxaca City. To magnify things, it started to rain a bit harder and we really didn't care for the efficiency of the wipers on the car we were driving.
