Thanks John
You can do this easily at Vote From Abroad.org. The online wizard is easy to use and many states require that you reapply each election year.

https://www.votefromabroad.org/

The Lake Chapala chapter of Democrats Abroad Mexico will be registering voters at Salvadors and LCS. Watch the Reporter for details.

Thanks for the link Flamingo.
I have a question, the last state I lived in was Utah, given that Utah always votes Republican will my vote for Obama even count given the electoral college rules or would I be wasting my time?

You´d be wasting your time. Not to stir the political pot but Dawg would vote the Democratic ticket this November and I feel really strongly about the need to help the Democrats prevail across the board but here are my two absentee choices:

* Vote in California which is certain to go Democratic by a landslide in San Francisco where my ballot would be cast.
* Vote in Alabama which is certain to go Republican as it has ever since Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act back in the 60s lamenting at the time that that was unequivocally the right thing to do but would cost the Democratic Part the Deep South for generations to come.

The electoral college system, which was meant to protect us from ourselves, has created a fiasco. Now, if I were able to vote in a swing state which I could have done if I had been born in Florida some 40 miles east of where I was born in Alabama, I could vote in that swing state and, perhaps make a difference. Where is the logic there? I should have kicked so hard my mama would have landed in Pensacola so I could have popped out there rather than Mobile. Damn!

Thanks Dawg,that's what I thought.
Maybe they should re-think this electoral college business,I voted in two presidential elections while I lived in Utah and I don't think either one of my votes ever counted for anything, something wrong there IMO.

I have a personal theory about why Mittens won't release old tax returns. He says it is because how much he gives the church is no one's business. Think about it. Would he loose votes if he gave over 10%? Not with his base. How about if he tithes under 10% on millions of dollars? That could be a game changer in Utah. You might want to get a ballot just in case.

Some states even send the ballot to you via email, so it is worthwhile to check the website for the county/state where you are registering.

With all due respect Flamingo the only game changer in Utah would be if he admitted to a homosexual affair.
Lots of Mormons cheat on their tithings.
