Crazy rain in Guad this afternoon

Check out Lazaro Cardenas by Mariano Otero and Los Arcos. It started a bit before 6, ended before 8pm and at 9pm traffic was still a mess all over.

Holy crap we were just there on Wednesday.

Holy crap is right, I've never seen it like that. Be careful going in with M today.

Lazaro Cardenas has always turned into a river in heavy rains. We lived a block behind the bridge in the background before the underpass was built. The median strip was very wide those days and filled with eucalyptus trees. A number of times they would lose big branches in heavy winds and they would go floating past the house.

Poor road drainage design or someone forgot to put in drainage when building it.

Designing highways that don't flood must be a lot harder than it looks. When I was in college in Albuquerque, my roommate's father was a big mucky muck in the Engineering Department. He designed a new section of the freeway that proceeded to flood every time we had a decent rain.

Either that or the drain holes are clogged with debris........

It even made the national TV news last night!

We drove right through there today and you couldn't even tell that water had been there, unbelievable!
