The will be no electricity in parts of chapala Tomorrow

CFE came into some of the businesses in Chapala to inform us that parts of Chapala Centro will have no electricity beginning as early as 8:00 a.m . and could be out until 6:00 p.m. . They were not very specific about the exact area but they did mention Flavio Romero , up to Zaragoza and the area around the bus station...but who knows...Hope for the best, prepare for the worst...Suerte!

I wonder if they are finally going to start taking down the poles, since they were supposed to be burying all the wires along Madero?

It's one lane traffic into and out of Chapala from stoplight Near Tomas.

They cut power at !0:00 a.m. and it's been off all day. They are replacing cables and it is quite a production. no fancy equipment, just men ropes and ladders. I don't know when we will have power again, but I doubt it will be today.

Sage, I have wondered about those poles on the avenida too. I know that the telmex cables are buried but I dont know about CFE. I think i'll ask one of the guys out here. I bet those ugly ass wires will stay there forever.

LMAO Ms. Thang........Funny thing....my barber is really excited about the new power lines, as they will also bring new parking meters......I asked him why today.....he said that most parking on the main drag is used by people that work in GDL, and take the bus to work. As a result no parking available for his or other retail shoppers....don't know if it's true, but sounds logical

We got electricity before sundown exactly as promised. The new wires are high tension so that might eliminate some problems, but the transformers will not be replaced. They say the old ones, the ones that go BOOM just before the lights go out, are so way better than the new ones.
If you live in Chapala centro, your area could be next. They are working it in sections.

Jim, that is an interesting theory about the parking in Chapala. I wonder if the people who park their chairs in the space in front of their stores will have to feed the meters? I also wonder how it will affect the Monday market because you can't find a place to park on monday to save your life. It will be interesting to see how it works out.

I live in Centro. We are on the carretera and keep hoping they will extend the new sidewalks to the muro. It's a lot to hope for, but judging by the sheer amount of wires I see outside my bedroom, even half that would be nice. I'd love for there to be less resting spots for the damn birds. The people who have to park their cars there at night would also welcome this.
