What about the standings for all your dear, dear Canuck friends who, apparently can hardly tolerate you, as per countless responses. How about Canada's great Bronze win in soccer you myopic dufus. THAT was magic, not that you'd know. SEEK the path to redemption sinner.

Would someone like to explain in clear terms what the amazing achievements of Olympic athletes from any nation have to do with any of us?
It's as silly as team loyalty when you aren't on the team.....just plopped on yer butts with a beer, yelling at the TV.

Don't see Canada listed as apparently they didn't win much. A Bronze win in Soccer. Isn't that THIRD place? BFD.

Maybe because they are infrequent (4 yrs), used to be amateurs and now we forget that they all aren't amateurs, youthful for the most part, or on the other extreme old for an athlete, we see them through our eyes as the pure, focused, all-American boy or girl, and we wrap it in our flag so we can feel patriotic. Maybe, then again, maybe it's just our team loyalty mentality, red / blue, black / white, odd / even . . .

If it wasn't for Women's Volleyball.... I doubt I would have even noticed The Olympics...

Women's soccer.....now that one johnny boy should know about, coming from Uruguay and all.

I don't know what kind of coverage anyone is receiving on U.S. channels because we're watching on CTV in HD. CTV had some great segments with interviews of a few athletes.
For me, it's not all about the medals. I love the inspirational aspects of the games...the overwhelming odds, trials, tribulations and people who inspire them. Those are the things that get me emotional and proud.

Maybe something to do to entertain us all. I watch a Baseball game once
a week during season but I don't watch just one team.

Don't get me wrong. We've been watching the Olympics on the BBC and loving it, from the beginning ceremony to some events we've never seen before. Bless the BBC for an alternative to the joke that is nbc.fail, with the miniscule coverage, the blabbering heads and the commercials.

It's inspirational, seeing the awesome efforts of the individual athletes, the dedication to grueling hours of training and sharing their triumphs and disappointments. ALL of them, from every country. Y'know, how about that Jamaican team? WOO HOO. We're also loving the audience, cheering for the all the winners, not just their own country's entrants.

We just need to remember who won the medal. T'wasn't you or I, amigos.
