Fast computer help needed

The old computer with my accounting books has crashed. I have the books on a backup drive in that computer which is almost certainly OK, it appears that our "friends" at CFE cooked the power supply. I need someone who can quickly read that hard drive and transfer the files onto a disk or chicklet.

I'd contact Helper Guy. He's done well for some friends with computer problems.

I assume you don't have a second computer right now. I got access to my OLD hard drive by plugging it into the CD Rom cable of another computer ... but that is old technology. Controllers have changed a few times since. If it's only the PS they are not expensive

THis is a really simple thing for a tech to do.
HG or others should be able to connect it as another drive (just like it was on your PC) and get the stuff onto a USB drive, etc.

I'd do it but I dont have a desktop system available.

Power supplies are cheap and easy to fix too. Since you have to take the cover off anyways just put a new power supply in.

How old is it. I have a box of power supplies for towers
at LCS. Might just replace the power supply and all may
be well. Let me know.

Zed, it is about 10 years old.

you know how to hook it back up. I will be

I have the computer over at Mike's now, he's looking at it and copying the hard drives. I'll get in touch when I find out what he has to say.
