Might anyone have a referral for a gastroenterologist locally or in Guadalajara?

Thanks!

Hey, RB.
There are gastros listed with the Specialistas up on the Libremiento that get some good reviews.
If it were me, I'd ask JP for a referral. He took me for a colonoscopy at his teaching hospital and it was done by the GI chief of staff. I liked him a lot and the price was moderate, and it was done in a hospital setting. I could recommend him but I forget his name. JP will tell you.
Suerte.

The best gastroenterologist I have ever gone to is in Guadalajara plus he is an internist. But he is in semi retirement so can be difficult to get an appointment. He has office hours Mon am through Thurs am only. Call ASAP to get an appointment. He speaks perfect English - went to undergraduate school in the US and married to a woman from the US.

The downside is he does not do email or have a cell phone but his receptionist can track him down if it's important. I have IBS and have had some pretty tricky infections like Shigella and was able to get him on the phone to tell me what to do. He is in the office building directly across from Hosptial del Carmen on the second floor.

Recently saw a gastroenterologist in Houston and was having problems. He asked me what the best treatment was on which I felt the best. I told him the one Dr. Parra prescribed. This doctor prescribed the same thing and the IBS cleared up.

phone 01 333 120 4655
address: 3540 Tarascos

I have been to several of the gastroenterologists that come to the Integrity clinic by the Pemex and they all seem to leave and not return. I asked Dr. Briseno the cardiologist if he knew the gastroenterologist that comes to the clinic and he told me he did not know him so can't recommend him. I would stick to Dr. Parra as long as he is in practice.

FYI many of the gastroenterologists that come lakeside do procedures like colonoscopies and surgery. Dr. Parra does not, he is a diagnostician and if he feels you need a test will send you to someone who does them.

Hey Trailrunner, maybe some of the rest of it might also like to know JP's referral. Care to share with us too? Thanks
