I dunno....I always thought Coors was Colorado River piss water. I've traveled around Europe a bunch & developed a taste for their beers...much more body & flavor (not including those bloody Brit Stouts, bitter molasses served at room temp)
Interesting point: The Czech's have surpassed Germany in annual per capita consumption of beer. When I visited my son's office in Prague for the first time 15 years ago, at 10 AM they sent the secretary down to get a tray full of beers!...beats the hell out of the Brits "afternnoon tea." Also, when Mexico wanted to develop a brewing industry, they went to the Czech's & Germans...Want A good Czech-type beer in Mexico? It ain't called BOHEMIA for nuttin...

Ranier beer has what was probably the best beer commercial ever. No words. An old RD350 ?? two stroke yamaha with a rider on it and a nice
curvy road coming out to a big valley with a great view of Mt. Ranier in the background. Now as the motorcycle comes out of the curve and
accelerates all you hear is Raa niiiirrrr beeer with each sylable being a two stroke gear change. You old 2 stroke riders know what I am talking
about. I would love to see that commercial again. To be honest the beer sucked. I thought Henry Weinharts (sp) tasted better anyway. Can
anybody remember the commercial that Henry's made famous? It involved a border guard.

Oh yea...They make a great Root beer but frankly Henry use to be the best beer in Oregon but in the Pacific Northwest including
BC, Vancouver we generally have moved on to ales and such. My town of 60K people had over 50 microbrews on tap. I don't
think Blitz, Ranier, or many other PNW beers are still around. Kids drink PBR these days cause its hip. Most everyone I know
drinks ale these days.

Funny you should mention that...I remember an interesting story in Business Week 15-20 years ago. When the beer market was consolidating into the big three, Coors, Bud & Miller, the little guys, Oly, Black Label, Schlitz, Etc were staring at bankruptcy. Some bright guy realized the value of the names & bought the trademarks. He then cheapened the product but would get a good 8-12 month run before the consumer figured out they were being hosed...then he'd liquidate what ever was left...kind of a crappy way to do business, but legal...like the wise guys that started selling "a pound of coffee" in 14 oz cans...they never told you it was a pound & the 14oz was in fine print, so they let you assume what ever you wanted. BTW General Electric got out of the home appliance business a few years ago & did the same thing...sold off the naming rights....so if you see a GE brand iron or toaster, it ain't got nuttin to do with the GE we grew up with.
