Ok....it's not even been 24hrs my wife and I have arrived in your little paradise, and while it is early, I think we are pretty much charmed. Morning at the market was really fun, colorful and very friendly. In fact, everyone, gringo and local alike have been very friendly....not hard to tell you're not in the northeast anymore. The weather is more or less spectacular, and I particularly love the cloud formations over the mountains. CBob graciously has offered to show us around, and it's likely we will make it to the swarm Friday. Looking forward to meeting some of you and of course learning more about your haven here

Branford is on the coast about 45 min from us. If I 'm not mistaken, one of our favorite little places to eat" the lobster shack " is there. We love Boston, my son went to Berkley school of music for a while, loved visiting.

The wall hanging is a limited editio ###/500 of Salvador Dali's "Persistance of Memory". So happens I was actually working with Dali in 1974, helping him set up his museum in Figures, Spain. ( I worked with Dali for a period of 5 years) At that time I helped hang the first one of the tapestries in the museum....I was in love with it. About 6 months ago I found one on eBay...the rest is history

BTW, see if you can intice CBob to show you Jocotepec & the malicon at the west end of the lake...a totally different Mexico than that up in "Gringo Gulch."

We may just be there right around that time. We have to be back at Mario's in SAT by 1:00pm for the swarm. Hopefully you can join us for that too.

OK I'm impressed! Dali was one of my first favorite artists. I now have so many favorites I can't count them. Lived in NYC for 20 years and practically lived in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I remember when Guernica (different artist) was in the Museum of Modern Art for safe keeping - fabulous painting - which original has now gone home to Spain.

PS I have lived here for 14 years and can only stand to be away for 2 weeks - then can't wait to get back.

It was NY where I did most of my work with Dali ...at the St Regis...71-75 spent plenty of time with Warhol too. Very interesting times to say the least
