I don't know anyone who attended. Did anyone see any Mexican artists exhibiting there?

If you don't mind, Frkshnwa?

That there is great affordable healthcare available Lakeside and in Guadalajara. And Dr. Leon understood the problems we had in the US since he practiced there. That the Doctors here in Mexico treat you for what ails you when you come in not just the one issue that prompted you to visit. It sounded more like the way doctors were in the US in the 50's and part of the 60's before the advent of HMO's and massive health insurance coverage.

Were the presentations geared to potential retirees or businesses that try to get more retirees interested in the area?
I've seen Dr Leon's presentation at LCS and it was very good

Re: Baby Boomers Retirement Seminar Hotel Chapala Rea
I believe most of the people attending the presentations were already living in the area. Some presentations were promoting a product or development but we attended those that focused on living in Mexico. I believe they were just as helpful to those already living in the area as those who were visiting for the first time. One topic was about how the area is changing to meet the needs of the gringo populace. It was a Mexico wide conference about retirement in Mexico not just about the Lake Chapala area. One of the presentations we enjoyed very much was done by Professor David Truly PHD from the Tall Boys band. He told us of his studies about what drives visitors or retirees to an area and what has to be done to maintain the popularity of the location over time. There was also several Mexican folk dance shows from different areas of Mexico. And of course there were the resort exhibitions trying to get you to try their resort and to attend a timeshare or real estate sales presentation in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun or one of the many other coastal destinations. There were some evening live music that we didn't attend. There also was Tequila and Beer tasting. All in all we had a good time over the two days and would go again if it returned here.
