Post by gravy Fri Jun 01, 2012 4:30 pm

I have posted this on the other site but I'm casting a wider net ......
I was adopted by a beautiful calico pregnant kitty ..I caused a war over weather to fix her or let her have her kittens ....she had her kittens next door in an abandoned construction site
This was a long period of time getting her to trust me with food and eventually pets ( she's now a "pet" junky ) and quiet the talker ....such a tiny little lady
My (much younger) neighbor scaled the 10' wall ,found them , and brought them back ....the familly now lives in my TINY casita ( Bernie Merdoff and OJ Simpson have larger living space ) ....they are close to 1 month old and starting to be VERY active ....very cute ...very small
I'm posting this with the knowledge that Jeffery and Anita are overwhelmed with cats and kittens but these are SPECIAL Gravy kitties ....ALL shots and spaying will be done ....They are playful, mannered, and socialized
I was going to name them Larry ,Curly , and Moe or The wit triplets ( Dim, Half, and Nit ) but will leave that up to the new parents .....Please help me find homes for these incredible little guys as I have NO ROOM here ....I will keep Mom as she is already a neighborhood fixture
Bob has kindly offered to post photos thanks ....(take two , they're small )

I am a cat rescue person and just about finished with a batch of kittens thrown over a compound wall. Find a LCS member and post a 1/2 page ad
which is the largest they allow. Got rid of two kittens this way to good homes. Taking care of the shots and fixing helps a great deal but this time
of the year is tough for kittens. It took me four months to get rid of 4 kittens. Expose the kittens to nice dogs, children, old people to socialize
them. I find cats that like dogs somewhat are easier to place than spitting fearful kitties.

Good Luck

Common gato lovers. Take one tiny gato, put it in a jacket or similar next to your heart, carry it around for a few days, and presto, your pal for life (theirs or yours). Works every time. i guarantee it. Felix, our 23 year old tabby, short haired Manx, still follows me around when he's not clocking approx. 20 hours/day of quality old cat nap time.

Kitty City has turned into $hitty city .....as far as Mommy kitty is concerned ....She ( Katey Kitty) has diarrhea .... actually think she's had it from the giddy up but she does her business outside ...most of the time ..... worms ?
will deworming her hurt the kittens ? ....she has a hernia that will be taken care of when she's fixed ...should I wait ? ....and NO , I'm not giving her milk ....two varieties of Whiskas ....do I need to take her to the vet for pills or can I treat her myself ? ....there is a trust issue with a feral cat

Worms are only one possible cause for diarrhea. The serious danger is that she will become dehydrated and unable to nourish the kittens. Some vets recommend taking the mom cat off all food, giving only water, for 24 hours + hand feeding the kittens. But, because she is a nursing mom, I would err on the side of caution and take her and the kittens to the vet. How old are the kittens now?

If you can get hold of some DE, Diamatacious Earth, try that to worm her. It's not a poison so won't hurt the babies and you can't overdose her. It comes in food grade that's even safe for you. Just don't use the stuff for swimming pools. It gets everything except heartworms..that includes tape worms who are a bear to get rid of!!

If the problem is indeed worms, Kipissippi has an interesting solution.

Causes could be stress, could be pigging out on wet food, could be parasites or roundworm or tapeworm. What color is the diarrhea? Odor? Frequency?

Because feline leukemia is prevalent here, the kittens ought to be tested soon and definitely before adopted out where other cats could be infected.

went to Memo's ....nice guy .....got a pill and as per instructions , gave her half in s a little tuna ....she ate it ....wasn't about to force it down her .....other half in a week to 10 days ....
Kittens are fine , wrestling and snoozing ....mommy feeding and cleaning them ....got them a toy ...a ball with a bell ....confusion at first and then mayhem ....cute little buggers but the midnight wrestling matches are a sleep killer ....they still don't know what to make of me ...very tolerant of me
Planning on closing them in my bathroom ( almost the same size as my casita ) to let them out of their box and run around ....more kitty proof than the casita .....
Taking orders so put yous in !

Gravy is a good man......These kittens are sweethearts, the mother a ferral cat has accepted Gravy and is trusting. My wife Debbie volunteered kitten sitting while we go fishing, we may end up with a kitten!

Chill gravy, nobody would seriously do anything like that. In fact I had a lifelong love affair with siamese kitties.
Two currently live at our place. 1958 to 2,000 I had house cats. Now I have some wild ones who live on our terrazza. They keep the rats away and the scorpions.
