Just as a suggestion, for really long URLs try http://tinyurl.com/
I've used it quite a bit and it is really helpful, especially in emailing links where the URL is broken up into multiple email lines and my Mom doesn't understand why it doesn't work.

I understand the good parts of tinyurl, but I've had some experience with it being used to disguise a malicious website from Russia or someplace.
