Recommendations for Glasses Frames
I need your collective wisdom here. . .
Don't need prescription, just new frames. Anyone have a recommendation for glasses frames and quality workmanship? I already know about Pinto and Costco. Any other places? What about the place in Chapala up from the post office? Anyone bought glasses from them?
Thanks, guys.

Re: Recommendations for Glasses Frames
For a selection of truly vintage frames, check out the optician at LCS. You know, the frames we loved in days gone by. Plus some newer models.
You dont' need to be a member of LCS to use the optical and hearing aid services. They are independent. Located in the back under the large building, in the corridor. Sign up sheets are there for appts. on the days they come.

She's a very competent optometrist, IMO. (I mistakenly called her an optician). My husband just bought some new reading glasses there. She doesn't charge for the exam, only for the glasses. He said she had several suitcases full of frames to look at. Don't know about catalogs.

She doesn't charge but if you have the money she would very much appreciate a tip. She made blended trifocals for me not an
easy task. She is also very nice and a charming optometrist is my opinion.

Re: Recommendations for Glasses Frames
Ok, I'll check her out. So, you just go to LCS and sign the book for an appt? Or she is there? When?
I do not need the doctor part, my prescription is relatively new, just need to have new glasses made. Bifocal, photogrey, and want a good selection of frames to choose from with good quality workmanship.
I hesitate with LCS because I've found any business associated with LCS is usually priced quite high. . .for all the obvious reasons.
So, anybody have experience with others????
Thanks all for your input.

She has a sheet in the hallway where the other offices are. You sign up there. She does exams in the morning and other business in the P.m.
As said before, she charges gentle prices.

I think Thursday is here day at LCS. If you don't see the signup sheet near the med offices then ask at the main LCS Office.

Re: Recommendations for Glasses Frames
Price isn't everything when buying frames. Look at them very closely to see how they're constructed. Don't be fooled by high priced 'Designer" frames. That doesn't mean they're made any better. I have a pair of metal frames that are the best and sturdiest I've ever owned.
Those of you touting this lady who comes to LCS, is she going to "guarantee" the frames if you have a problem with them, like Dr Pinto or Costco will. Dr Pinto is excellent, the best at Lakeside, although I think he's a bit expensive. My next pair of lenses will come from Costco only because of price.

Dr. Luz has an excellent reputation. You have no cause to question her integrity.

You misunderstood. I was asking if she would guarantee her product. I'm sure any reputable person would.
