Just was catching up on some reading at Mother Earth News and came across this post denouncing Monsanto...it also contains a link to a petition against President Obama having appointed former Monsanto VP and lobbyist Michael Taylor to become senior advisor to the FDA's commissioner . Talk about letting the fox into the hen house.

piece on the very real dangers of genetically modified food, all well proven by scientific research, will appear in the April/May issue of MOTHER EARTH NEWS.

An interesting article followed by a number of interesting comments from readers both pro and con. The issue of cross-pollination of Monsanto´s genetically modified seeds is a big issue in Chiapas where we live part of the year. Many indigenous farmers who grow corn on countless small mountainside milpas are concerned that Monsanto is deliberately cross pollinating their corn with Monsanto´s genetically modified corn in an attempt to force them into using Monsanto´s genetically modified seeds. Dawg is not a farmer and I don´t know if there is any truth to their assertions but this is certainly a very controversial issue down there.

The cool thing is Monsanto just got kicked out along with their dreaded seeds from three countries last week. France, Costa Rica and Hungary. There is hope in some parts of the world...
