Have any US or Canadian citizens driven their Mexican plated car across the US Border? If so, did you experience any problems?

I've done it several times, both into the USA and Canada. No problems whatsoever, provided one is not entering Canada as a resident of Canada, in which case you are considered to be importing and the vehicle must be on the list of approved vehicles for importing, and there are taxes to pay. As long as you are a non-resident and have a Mexican visa to show them, no problems. Also, much easier crossing back into Mexico.

Easier than having a US plated vehicle, you just have to have your FM stamped and don't have to deal with your car at all.
Just double check your insurance.
