Jeep Club At Lake Chapala
Is there an expat Jeep club in the Lake Chapala area?

From the lack of responses I guess there must not be an organized Jeep Club in the Lake Chapala area. Maybe I'll have to start one. Would love to hear from Jeep owners in area who would one to do tours together.....I am not talking the hill climbing "lets see if we can tear up our Jeep" club like you see up North. I'm talking "road tours" to beautiful Mexican locations, sunday drives, trips around the lake or trips to the coast. Similar to the motorcycle tours. Will be looking for a nice Jeep when we arrive in April.

Sounds like a fun club with or without Jeeps. Unless you are bringing a Jeep down, you will find the price of used C Series Wranglers, Sahara's & Rubicons in Jalisco to be much higher than NOB. From what I have seen they are easily 30% to 50% higher than a similar used Jeep up north. I do not know why that is either since there is a lot of them for sale in Guadalajara. The Cherokees seem to be reasonably priced. Here is a good site to look for a used one:

Finding it just the opposite 20-30% higher here in Washington.....have used soloautos to compare. Devaluation of peso is also helping.

Wow.......have a look at craigslist Vancouver.
BTW, I am refering to ones 10 years old or older. If your looking in Canada they were called YJ's not Wranglers.........

Yj's are the older model...Newer models are Wranger X and Wranger X Unlimited or Wrangler Rubicon. Definitely flying down so we will be looking in Mexico...have been finding the prices to be reasonable on soloauto but have to check out down there.
