Fernanda Verduzco, a Communication Sciences student at ITESO and creator of the project to map violence, explained that the initiative arose from a personal situation and the constant fear of suffering some type of violence when going out on the street.

Because it covers the Guadalajara Metro designated area, it doesn't include Chapala municipio. It does however include Ixtlahuacan de Membrillos.
