Woolly Bears

Anyone else seeing an invasion of these??

I have seen one or two every so many years, but this year they are prolific on my property.  Been sweeping them out of our casita, 4 or 5 manage to get in there daily.  

Up north we used to think they were predictors of the winter to come.

Until I googled today, I had no idea they turn into Tiger Moths.

Got into our vacant casita. We checked for gaps at windows, screens but will re-check.

It is amazing how some insects can squeeze their bodies into pretty tight openings.

Haven't seen them in our main house or even outside it. Just the casita.

There is also the possibility that they aren't getting in, but that the moths flew in at some point and deposited their eggs in nooks and crannies and the caterpillars emerged inside the casita.
But you are right- insects can get in the tiniest of spaces. They are survivors.
