Seriously need help. Just realized that the brake lights and turn signal lights are not working. Must get repaired ASAP.
PLEASE give recommendations of reliable & honest place to get these repairs done. Thanks so much! Barbara

I'm writing this because no one has responded (maybe because of the time?). I am in Tokyo now. I can not give you any names of garage/talleres in Chapala area.

Brake Lamps failure: Most commonly, it is a blown bulbs and/or blown fuse, but in rare cases, it can also be a broken brake wire or switch.

Turn signal lights failures: A blown bulb could be the cause of the problem. In this case blinker intervals get faster than normal mode.
There is also the possibility of a blown fuse or failure of the blinker relay, which is responsible for making the blinker blink at regular intervals.
Another possibility is that the blinker lever is faulty if the hazard lights function normally, but the blinker doesn't come on.
It is not difficult for a trained mechanic to fix these problems.

Take care!

Funny, I checked this forum when I went to bed last night at 11 pm and Barbi's post was not here. Go figure.
Barbi, it would help if you stated where you're located to give the best responses. I use Carlos at Escalera (he speaks English). Located opposite (not exactly but close) S&S Auto in Riberas del Pilar.
His cell phone number is 333-440-2412 and they open at 9 am so don't bother calling before then.
Suerte!

I'd recommend Roberto Hernandez Llantera - right beside Tony's restaurant - SuperLake strip mall. Honest, quick and speaks perfect English.

I think that is one of the requirements to become Nationalized.
Well at the least you will not look out of place...

Go with the ones recommended.
