Businesses are closing and moving out of Laguna mall,I wonder why? is it the high rent or something else...

The car wash has relocated to the corner next to Ladrone's Vet Clinic in Riberas.

The car wash that was next to Lake Taco was torn down and is being replaced with a new building that, I believe, Chapala Med may be partially occupying.

The car wash in the Laguna Mall parking lot (with the hot wheels sign) is still there and operational.

Huh. When I was there yesterday I only saw a gray empty building and no wash stuff. I thought it was the car wash on the north end of LP.

Well I haven't been there in the last week so maybe something changed. They were always crazy busy so can't imagine they closed to lack of business.

I believe it's re-locating to the lot next to Ladron's Vet Clinic. Only a car wash would want to be between a Church and a Vet Clinic. Now they can say cleanliness is next to Godliness...and Dogliness. They'll be very busy if they're open on Sundays.

Parker Insurance just across the street confirmed to me recently that it is the carwash from Centro Laguna.

I heard from a reliable source that the owner of the mall, who is the widow of the man killed there doesn't want the mall anymore.   She's letting leases expire then not renewing them.  Time will tell if this is the case.

She's clearly not thinking straight if that's the case. It would be much more valuable for the purposes of selling if leases are in place.

Unless the property is slated to be sold and used for something else?  The land is likely more valuable now for other purposes than stores and tenants with all the associated  responsibilities  and costs.  Or...she just doesn't need the money.

One of the things I miss about NOB is the notification signs that something is coming on buildings under construction and/or renovation. It is THE cheapest form of advertising possible well in advance of an actual opening. "Coming soon... whatever". It would save us all months of speculation. ;)

What would be really nice is if when a business moves, they put a sign on the door saying where they moved to, instead of them just suddenly being gone from one day to the next. Not doing so is a really stupid lack of business sense.

Yup. And how about businesses (like groomers or plumbers or electricians etc.) who don't keep a client list so they can inform those clients when they get a new cell phone number. Arrrrgggghhhh!
