Flu shot

We just got our flu shot at Clinica at six corners in Ajijic, in and out in 5 minutes...

I got a flu shot this morning at Centro de Salud on Ocampo at no cost with only a 15 Mon wait.

The free shots at public health clinics are the Trivalent.  

In a few weeks the Quadrivalent will be available at private providers as it has been in the past.

In previous years we have gotten the Quadrivalent at LCS, Hospital SAT, Chapala Med and Lakeside Medical Supplies.

LCS Health Day
The LCS Health Day is scheduled for Friday, October 28 from 10am to 1pm using the South Campus Patio.
Registration and prepayment for the flu vaccine will take place on Tuesday, October 25 and Wednesday, October 26, for LCS members only. CASH ONLY
Open registration for non-members of the LCS will be Thursday, October 27, subject to availability of the flu shot. CASH ONLY.
Sign up and pay in the LCS office. Membership must be current through the registration process. CASH ONLY.

The flu shot is QUADRIVALENT. This is a 4 Strain shot. Cost is 750 pesos.
Shots will be administered by Lidia Zamudio, under the direction of Dr. Carlos Garcia.

You can also get the Quadrivalent flu shot at Clínica de Diagnóstico in the SAH complex, right hand corner. Cost is $750. Cash only. Call Judith for an appointment so they have enough vaccine. 376 765 4805

We were on list with the Clinic in HSAT complex; they called yesterday (missed call) so today (Saturday) we went over and walked-in for shots.  

Also, Dr. Jessica Flores posted on her FB page that she is giving shots starting Monday, no appts. needed.

At both places shots are 750p, cash only.

Update: they are now taking credit or debit cards. We got our shots today.

The free public clinics only provide Trivalent low dose flu vax.

At Clínica de Diagnostica at the Hospital SAT complex they are giving Fluzone, the Quadrivalent HIGH Dose flu vax.  This is likely what the other private providers are giving since all are at same cost and all arrived at same time here.

What is Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent vaccine?
Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent vaccine contains four times the antigen as standard dose flu vaccines. It is manufactured by Sanofi Pasteur Inc. Fluzone High-Dose Quadrivalent is a four-component flu vaccine. It is one of three influenza vaccines (along with Flublok Quadrivalent and Fluad Quadrivalent) that is preferentially recommended for people 65 years and older. This preferential recommendation is new for the 2022-2023 season.

Dr. Flores confirmed that she is also giving Fluzone brand.
