Savta in Ajijic, Lunch and Brunch
Love eateries that can produce a sandwich and eggs bennie in the same timeframe.
Savta's on Colon just north of Constitucion/Ocampo has an expanded menu since moving downtown.
Sandwich is Duck Confit, and they were very generous with the duck. In-house baked baguette--super crunchy, super tasty. The Eggs Benny Cholulu was meatless with Swiss Chard--they really know how to poach an egg here! On what I think was one of their heartier breads, cut in a circle, certainly not your typical English muffin--much more interesting and tastier.
The sandwich was 170p and the Benny was 140p.
There are 3 dining areas beyond the bakery counter. The first 2 are very nice and fully covered, but there is also a really sweet back patio with umbrellas (no solid cover) where we sat. The patio filled up quickly soon after we arrived at noon.
There are some items available all day, some only after 2 (pasta for example); there is a new pizza menu, but not sure if they are serving them as of now (had read on FB that the pizza was 'coming soon.'

Do any of the chairs in the restaurant have arms?

Chairs with arms--not on the back patio, but **maybe** in the other 2 rooms?? I remember they were different; I usually go there once a week for pastries so I will look next week.

Thanks. Am eagerly awaiting answer. Some of us have a really hard time getting out of 'armless' chairs.

Lunch today--a Croque Madame made with smoked turkey; and a Burrata Salad (burrata, charred cherry tomatoes and a ton of walnut halves) that came with toasted sourdough bread (which I brought home). Best salad I've had in years!
@gringal, no chairs with arms in any of dining rooms. fyi, Savta is registered with Traitte so maybe that's an option for you.
Also--others have mentioned walking/standing aids--have you considered a folding walker? I bought one for my recent hip replacement (only used it 3 days); you are welcome to borrow and give it a try for a few weeks if you'd like.

Thanks for the info and offer. I had a walker but several years ago, took a fall from it resulting in 3 hours of surgery, and now I just use a walking stick. Fortunately, mi esposo still drives and I like to go out for lunch to get out of the house!

Gringal I can really relate to your post. Still use my walker and my walking stick and esposo still drives. Moving to a single story house in a few days because I can no longer negotiate the 20+ steps leading up to our front door.

Back to SAVTA. Love their burrata salad. Never had burrata until a few years ago in US...cool that we have it here nowadays. Here's its story, https://burratahouse.com/blogs/recipes/the-story-of-burrata-and-why-we-make-it
Got an early Pan de Muerte...this one is upscale with an infusion of naranja y yuzu. When you order it, they take it to kitchen where the chef slices the pan, makes holes in bottom layer and pipes in the citrus mixture. Oh so decadent!
This is a dangerously sweet spot in Ajijic.

SAVTA tweaked its menu a bit. I was disheartened that the Burrata Salad disappeared, but the new Burrata Toast is pretty much the salad placed atop their toasted sour dough. Charred cherry tomatoes, toasted walnuts. Great dressing and a giant ball of burrata.
My only criticism of the place is their wine prices. 190p for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and other wines in that same ballpark.
