Teeny Weeny Ants
I call them sugar ants and they are the smallest ants I've seen but still a real PITA in the pantry. I put down some poison that has never failed before for ants but it does not seem to have any effect on these. Any suggestions?

Re: Teeny Weeny Ants
This WORKS!!
BUT do not be tempted to make it stronger...if it is too strong they will not take the bait.
Place into 1-cup liquid measuring cup:
1/2 teaspoon boric acid powder
1 1/2 Tablespoons white sugar
Fill to 2/3 cup line with warm water
Stir/whisk to dissolve completely.
Fold half a paper towel a few times into roughly a 3 inch square; dip in the liquid and set the wet square on the counter, floor or even on a tile wall. Put remaining liquid in fridge covered.
The paper towel will dry out over night. Discard and repeat with new towel; repeat until you see no ants. Usually gone in one day, but treat two days to be sure.
Leftover liquid can be kept refrigerated for future use for at least a month.

Thank you. I tried Coors Light on a paper towel but they liked it and kept coming back for more.

Sprinkle acidic borico. Any Farmacia has it.

Not LCS news - but for years I've used those disinfectant towels in plastic tubs from Walmart, Costco or wherever. Wipe the counter and also on a trail wherever they have left one.... down counter to floor, etc. Works great. One towel usually does it and they don't return.

Haha. Beer works good for slugs- used to use it in coastal BC, Canada. Put some in a deep container, they fall in, get drunk, can't get out and drown. But I never heard of using beer for ants.

I tried all of the above suggestions and the teeny weeny ants went away in 3 days, however, their cousins then arrived and they are bigger. Anyone have a plan B? I located their entry point at an electrical socket coming in thru a polyetylene tubing sleeve for the wiring. Thinking I may fill that up with silicone.

I get that a lot- ants coming through the electrical conduit. I usually just spray some Raid in there. They usually enter the conduits at the electrical panel.

Not good idea to simoly cover hole with silicone. Ants can accumulate in such numbers they can actually cause a short in your electricity. It is best to spray some poison in the hole. It will not kill all the ants but at least they will leave this area.

Re: Teeny Weeny Ants
The ants right now are terrible, the large ones are devastating the plants in the garden and the tiny ones are everywhere , I feel them crawling over me whe I sit on the sofa, it is awful. I have them up the ceiling , on the walls, in the pugs, in the plants , everywhere, they drive me insane.. The special recipe took care of some of them but I still have two spots where they seem immune..grrr..

My cat's bowl is crawling with them, big red/black ones, as soon as she's done eating if there's any food left in the bowl. That's never happened before in all the years I've lived here. And I live on the coast, not Lakeside, so this must just be a really bad year for ants.
