Optometrist in Ajijic?

The young man who used to work at the place on the carretera near the phone company went back to school and became an optometrist. I understand he's practicing somewhere in Ajijic. Anyone know where?

No idea who you are talking about, BUT we were very happy with our eye exams with Dr. Salvador Borrayo Martinez who is on Hidalgo just off the Ajijic Plaza.  

In addition to exams for both contact lenses and eye glasses, he has a full optometry store next door.  Decent selection of frames.  

Very reasonable; exams were 200p (last year).

Not sure if you're looking for an Ophthalmologist or an Optometrist as you requested???
There is(was) a very good Ophthalmologist in the Dermika Clinic (which is in the plaza just west of Plaza Bugambilias). She is not there every day but does a very thorough exam including for glaucoma and cataracts. Small office but jam packed with equipment. She also does NOT sell glasses. I took her prescription for the glasses to the place in between Z gas and Telmex.

I went to the opthalmologist at Quality Care and took her prescription to Focus Vision next door. Results: not good, which is why I'm looking elsewhere. I've had good results having exams and buying glasses at the place near Telmex on the Carretera, but the access to the store is going from "difficult" to "impossible"for me.
Advice to all: never get old and decrepit!!

What about Luz at LCS?

Luz at LCS is sadly disappointing. I’m hoarding pesos toward a late summer/early fall trip to Phoenix to a LensCrafters. Any LensCrafters. Preferably near my hotel.

I would wait until the Comachos open again above immigration in Chapala. Too many poor ones here.
