Re: When Boosters?
I'm scheduled for my Booster at 4PM on December 30th. Trouble is I wasn't able to get it in Joco and am not willing to wait until it reaches Ajijic. I therefore scheduled my booster for up north. Seattle, to be exact

Pete, going into airports and getting on an airplane is probably riskier for contracting covid than waiting for a local booster shot......IMO.

Mike, I don't believe there have been any announcements for boosters for the 60+ in Chapala yet. Probably be a bit a delay with the Xmas period upon us. I would expect to see something by early/mid January if there is supply.

Sadly, I totally agree with you. I have other reasons for going north, that require my presence. So, I will be wearing the best mask I can get and will do my best, if that is possible, to avoid being exposed.

Re: When Boosters?
We are Canadian and came south before the booster shot was available (only a 5 month interval instead of the required 6 month interval between the 2nd shot and the booster). On the 29th we flew with Volaris non-stop to Tijuana, crossed the Mex/USA border on the CBX land bridge, were only asked to show our passports, overnighted in a hotel and we had our pre-booked Pfizer booster shots at a Walmart pharmacy with no questions asked, and flew back the same day. My concern was not so much the Omicron variant but rather the Delta variant, a nasty and dangerous variant. There is this article based on recent research in the UK which compares boosters of Astrazeneca vs Pfizer which show excellent protection of a Pfizer booster against the Delta variant but only about 45 to 65% effectiveness in preventing symptomatic disease against the Omicron variant but almost 90% effectiveness for both vaccine booster shots in preventing hospitalization.
