Yep my mom is 91 with asthma. They told her she can't even sign up so she waits by herself in the home she has been locked up in since May (she is doing fine). Any wonder why many (not all) rich folks are hated. Question is this any different from us folks who at some point can pay for the vaccine locally compared to locals waiting for gubmint vaccine?? We probably will be in this situation soon. Should we wait until vaccine is offered to all or take advantage of our higher economic standard? I don't know the answer do you??

Moral questions are hard to answer..... but it's a good question!

If this happens every expat here should also pay for one local who cannot afford it. It is in our best interest to get everyone vaccinated.

A group of Lake Chapala residents went to Florida two weeks ago for vaccine appointments they had of course their passports, valid US drivers licenses from their former home state AND falsified Florida property leases in the county. In and back within 3 days.

So yeah, there will be lots of moral questions. They have obviously decided to cheat.

Here in s. Texas some Mexicans are coming across to get their shots. They’re figuring out how to prevent it from happening.

It would be a great idea if you had to pay for vaccine but you do not ...I have no problem paying for a couple of residents  vaccines who could not get on the list..It is a good idea.
Taking a plane and going with a group anywhere right now is a good way to get sick anyways..

Here, in Seattle, they have distributed all of the vaccine shots they have received to date. And will not be distributing any more until the next US wide distribution of the vaccine. Darn

Some folks' "moral compass" is made of silly putty.

Flying twice to the States to get a free vaccine is pretty funny when you can stay here, stay put and buy a vaccine later in this year or get vaccinated by the state if they have the vaccine you want, is pretty silly and I believe more risky. Since after the vaccine you stll have to wear a mask and stay put , I really do not see the advantage of flying back to the States or to EUrope in my case.. Imagine how many vaccine or how many people you could help with the money you are spending on the airfare alone.

I think they fly there because it is available not because it's free. We won't get it here until the Fall if we are lucky....lol.

Now Canada is forcing travellers to quarantine in hotels when returning or arriving. A boon for the hotel industry?

yes , they fly because it is available but by flying you take more risk than by staying home. .. Lets see if in February we can register and what kind of vaccine they will have in Jalisco.. otherwise as you say it probably will be fall.. but since we still will have to take precaution it does not make a whole lot of differnce..

Well it may make a difference on whether you get the virus or not.

If you stay confined and wear masks and so on , your chances are minimal.. but life is funny sometimes..Your chances of getting it while travelling are much higher..

Some people do not get it so Payboy may be one of these lucky people.. I was just commenting to my husband that there is a lot we do not know about this virus.. How do you explain that it ravages some communities and it does othing to others?
In Chiaps people are dying in Tuxtla, Venustiano Carranza, the lacandon, Oxchuc Cancuc but they are not in Amatenango or Zinacantan..
Often the area with more deth areas in the hot lands but I know that communities like Zinacantan or Amatenango that are in cooler parts still have huge parties,wedding , baptism etc.. and there are not more death than usual? No one wear masks in these communities and they do not seem to have many sick or more death.. Lots we do not know yet..
