There will be a glut of half finished construction projects and abandon houses.
All gringo centered businesses will be gone. Lakeside's Mexican population will shrink without the money gringos bring into the area and the jobs that money provides
Wanna bet a few more thousand pesos?
Jajaja, good one Cbob.

I detect a "freedom" syndrome in with the "evil China" one. So let's ask if the Chinese approach to the pandemic, in which the leadership admitted the problem up front and raced to provide hospitals and resources for its citizens or whether the Trump approach of initial denial of the problem, batshit crazy treatment suggestions and belief that it would all go away on its own was better for the people?
I have no desire to live under a Communist government, but facts are facts, and the direction the U.S. government took for the last few years re the pandemic was deplorable. The propaganda, however, was very effective.
I don't have a crystal ball re 2035, but nothing in history has actually turned out like the "predictors" expected so far. So...no bets coming from here.

No kidding Gringal! In 1965, honestly thought we'd be getting "beamed" everywhere by 2020 or having flying cars like George Jetson.

It's more likely the US will fracture into several different countries and Texas, Arizona and California join the United States of Mexico.......lol.

I wouldn't defend the US approach (if one could call it an approach), but characterizing the Chinese government as "admitting the problem" or China's data as facts is a bit much. China denied the problem for perhaps more than one month, and only admitted anything when asked by the WHO. Even then, they provided no official confirmation. They did provide the world a genetic sequence for the virus, but never gave any samples from the original site of the outbreak (Wuhan). While it's true they got the virus under control, we know there were tens of thousands more deaths than those reported in just Wuhan, people (including doctors) just disappeared, and some people were quite literally barricaded in their apartments.
And of course there is the question of how this virus got loose in Wuhan. I guarantee you if this had happened outside Frederick, Maryland, some here would never believe it was naturally occurring.

We don't really know the facts about what happened in China any more than we have been told the truth about anything else. At least they eventually got the virus under control, whereas the U.S. just keeps getting worse. That's my problem with the way things have been handled. Hopefully, that will change.

China continues to lie about the virus and jail citizens who speak out about it.

"China has repeatedly pushed back against consensus that the novel coronavirus first appeared in humans in Wuhan," NPR's Emily Feng reports from Beijing. "Officials have suggested without evidence that the virus began elsewhere, including the U.S., and was brought to China."
Chinese authorities have sought to keep information about the virus under tight control, punishing people for publishing information through unofficial channels.
The most famous case involved the late Li Wenliang, the ophthalmologist who was reprimanded after issuing early warnings about the coronavirus. Officials later apologized for Li's treatment. But the government recently imposed a four-year prison sentence on Zhang Zhan, the lawyer-turned-citizen-journalist who had been giving her own updates on the pandemic's effects in China.

How about you stay in your home for 60+ days. If you leave you are arrested. If you are lucky "they" don't disappear you.
Unbelievable that you can even think that way. You are true socialist/communist.

That accusation is dowright laughable. What I am is an independent voter who prefers fiscal conservatism and social liberalism. In the case of this pandemic, many people have amply demonstrated that they do not care about the welfare of others, and they behave accordingly. When the government steps in to attempt to modify their behavior, they scream like toddlers about their "freedom". We have never had a successfull civilization where there are no rules that carry punishment when they are broken. Try speeding down the main thoroughfare at 100 mph or taking a chainsaw to the neighbor who has annoyed you.
Mainly, consider using logic and common sense before mouthing off and making ridiculous assumptions about others you don't even know.

Playaboy and his ilk love to throw out accusations of communist and socialist without having any understanding of what those terms actually mean.
Requiring people to wear masks to mitigate the spread of a deadly pandemic, and caring about your fellow humans more than you care about your "right" not to wear a mask, is proof to these types that someone is a communist or socialism supporter, dummies that they are.
