Dengue fever and CV19 in Mirasol

My friend's 87 year old Dad caught dengue in Mirasol. He is in bad shape at the hospital in GDL. One of the side effects for him is guilliane barre syndrome brought on by the dengue.

This fellow just tested positive for CV19 too. It's unbelievable. The family is very scared.

The father passed away yesterday morning in the hospital on a ventilator. The Mother is still asymptomatic. Very sad.

Please extend my sympathies to your friend and his mother. They have a rough road ahead and I sincerely hope that they will cherish the memories that they have made together.

Condolences.  Dengue is rough at half his age. Then to be combined w Covid. Did the family do any contact tracing, to try & figure out how they were exposed to virus? In the absence of a maid, gardener, personal attendant or the like, it could suggest Lakeside has underestimated the asymptomatic pool here at this point. With more weekends like this last one, our pool will launch like a rocket. I have never seen so many Tapatios in town on July 1! They are human vectors now, targeting our restaurant workers, cashiers and other young people working.

Luckily, DEET is available @ Walmart for the mosquito vectors. Off Family spray bottle @5%DEET is 55pesos & was very effective in eliminating mozzies w limited window spraying, seeming residual effect. The aerosols are 25%, more toxic than I want to use. But use them I will, because the combo of Dengue & asymptomatic covid is a real risk this rainy season with runamuck contagion. They are both 'envelope' viruses, and at least the research to date shows that Covid is not transmitted by mosquitos.  However, have not found research addressing impact of the two diseases occurring in tandem.
