Re: Anyone else playing Cribbage?
LOL. That's not all. I won before I got to count my crib hand which is shown... 15-2, 15-4, 15-6 and 6 for three of a kind makes 12.
I let the computer count the opponent hand and I count my own points to keep my head sharp(er). Interesting rule that I didn't previously know is that you can have a four OR five card flush in your main hand but that a flush is only allowed, in the crib, if all five cards are the same suit. Who knew.

A pair is two points. There's a really good tutorial with the game.

It's a saying, ferret. 15-2 15-4 and a pair is 6. I know how to play. Great game.

Thanks TR. I've never heard that saying before and I've been playing cribbage since I was 18.

Ive been playing since I was a kid too. When my mother was a kid she scored a perfect 29 hand and got her name in the Vancouver Sun newspaper.

Wow. That's impressive. Who was she playing with? I've seen it once or twice. In San Francisco, when we had a bar, everybody played cribbage or dice at the bar.

That IS an impressive score! Most I've ever gotten in a hand was 24 points, I think twice in the last four years.
We used to play at the cottage on a HUGE crib board with pegs as big as my thumb. Nuthin' much else to do if it was raining or miserable. Set it up in front of the fireplace and while away the afternoons. Nice memories of less complicated times.

Yep. 15-2 15-4 and there ain't no more.
They play a lot of dominoes in the bars in SF too. And I ain't talking Mexican Train, I'm talking Jailhouse dominoes. Best played on a small metal table.

Re: Anyone else playing Cribbage?
The thing about cribbage, gin, dominoes and the like is not the game itself but the players! The players HAVE to be fun! The jiving, kibitzing, ragging, and snide remarks is where the fun is. Playing cribbage with a computer sounds akin to watching paint dry to me. YMMV

And just with whom am I going to play given the present situation? It's better than nothing.

Agree with the metal table for dominos. I've watched the guys on the Chapala malecon, close to the clothing booths, play dominos. They slam them down and make a heck of a noise and then there's the shouting and razzing. I love it.

Re: Anyone else playing Cribbage?
I read years ago about someone who came up with a 31 or 32 count. Don´t remember how it was done, wished I had saved the article, but knowing I would never do it, I didn´t.
Anybody else remember hearing about that?

Re: Anyone else playing Cribbage?
That sound about right to me. I do remember the last 1 point was for having the "right" jack - meaning same suit.
