Covid19 R&D vaccine
Ferret this is for you.
I linked to the commentary because it is so spot on. Just go to the menu to read about exactly what they're doing.
I applied for a membership as to keep abreast of breaking news. I'm awaiting approval.
I'm not sure how long the trial membership lasts.

Re: Covid19 R&D vaccine
Thanks! Good article too!
It remains to be seen which one works best. And I know boodiddleysquat about viruses... but if ONE thing is constant in all coronavirus, it is the crown spikes and that doesn't ever seem to mutate according to the article. So, imho, lets go after those and take care of both Covid-19, MERS and SARS and any other of the shifty little buggers now and in the future.

That said, I am sure that BOTH approaches will be valuable in the short term.Scangos said Vir believes the best approach is to find epitopes that have “been conserved over many years of divergent evolution, when most parts of the virus have changed.” These are “likely to be very important for the virus in some functional sense” and therefore are unlikely to change when the virus mutates, he said. I read the same and absolutely agree. I have another link that I'm trying to find. It was very informative. I'll post when I locate it.
