Cows for Neighbors Empty Cows for Neighbors

Post by Safarigirl Sun Nov 10, 2019 6:46 pm

I will be visiting this Friday, Nov. 15, for one week (I have lived in Baja the last 4+ yrs.) to find a long term rental beginning Feb. 1. I work from home as an adventure travel guide taking small groups around Mexico and parts of southern Africa, so I write a lot and need wifi. Working with the public all the time, I need quiet at home and am looking for a 2 bed/2 bath furnished home in a rural area (no subdivisions or gated communities). I am fine having goats and cows as neighbors. I have a small sweet outside dog. Look forward to any suggestions :-)   ~Deborah

Rural plus good internet are not likely to be found together here. That said, I live in lower Riberas, have good internet and regularly have cows, goats and horses on my road. I liked it better when the lot next to me was vacant and I could hear the "lowing" from happy, well fed cows. Unfortunately, the lot was bought and has three houses going up on it. Such is life.
However, the location is still the best of both worlds so may be worth a look see for you. Rents are more reasonable as well although your timing is very bad. Snowbirds are back and there is very little for rent and probably won't be until the end of April.

All kinds of cows horses goats in south east San Antonio.  Walkable (good shape I assume) to Ajijic.  I feed a local horse a carrot every day.  Very satisfying for me and him. Most houses for rent now are unfurnished but a few are furnished.

Hi Zed, I just moved in a few weeks ago - a little house I found in San Antonio 1/2 block from the lake with 5 horses outside the door a few feet. I feed them an apple every day....probably will see you ! I have been walking to Chapala and Ajijic and just bought a bike and took it to the Farmer's Mkt. last Tuesday. Great location~ Deb
