New customer today: about 40 down. Dropped to 20 only a few feet away. Replaced the WiFi software on the laptop and it was back up to 40. Around the corner about 12 feet away, too weak for the Roku to even see the WiFi signal. Added a Google Mesh WiFi system: bingo: excellent reception.

ComputerGuy wrote:Since iLox offers very high speeds, the answer is NO. However, if you could clarify: how exactly are you trying to videocon? Are you using a WiFi device? Because the iLox modems have lousy WiFi. In that case, you could purchase a third-party WiFi router and hook it into the iLox box to get a stronger signal.
ComputerGuy. Forgive me for being so dense....I was raised in the time of the abacus....so this would not work in place of the ilox modem? https://www.amazon.com/MOTOROLA-MG7550-AC1900-Gigabit-Maximum/dp/B01JGT2JI6/ref=sxin_3_osp20-ded378fe_cov?ascsubtag=ded378fe-cad0-4ec5-951e-5d2db8dfbbe7&creativeASIN=B01JGT2JI6&cv_ct_id=amzn1.osp.ded378fe-cad0-4ec5-951e-5d2db8dfbbe7&cv_ct_pg=search&cv_ct_wn=osp-search&keywords=modem&linkCode=oas&pd_rd_i=B01JGT2JI6&pd_rd_r=910611f1-300c-4dfa-b2ec-c3a72f638174&pd_rd_w=VfH3J&pd_rd_wg=jnklY&pf_rd_p=a23a388c-add5-49df-b293-a31ade89c6bf&pf_rd_r=24P7THADF2C6Y5AT71PH&qid=1576775538&tag=bestcont06-20

Unfortunately not. First, it's a cable modem. iLox is fibre. Second, they will only allow the use of their own ONTs (boxes).
For those who have iLox, and already know how lousy the WiFi component is, I have a simple solution in the form of an inexpensive and reliable add-on router. Please PM or phone me for details.
