Container house?
Have heard that there is one somewhere Lakeside...maybe behind Mirasol, but can't find it. Does anyone know anything about one in this area? Directions/contact? TIA

Re: Container house?
There is the group of containers at the Container Restaurants located just west of the 711. Pretty bare bones and not insulated.
There is also a hotel on the west side of Ajijic but I can't remember the name or the exact location. If you can't find that individual house then I think the hotel may be able to answer your questions. It would HAVE to be insulated.

Re: Container house?
I've seen lots of construction offices built from old containers. Usually they are framed on the inside with aluminum or wooden studs then paneled with gyproc. The hollow walls are insulated and have space to run your electrical and plumbing just like houses are built NOB.
As a side note used containers are very expensive here compared to a "port" city. They want $3000.00 to $4000.00 USD for a 20 footer and $6000.00 plus for the 40 footers. I could buy them in Vancouver for $1000.00 CAD and $2500.00 CAD. I looked at them at a few places in Guadalajara that sell them for some other idea I was working on.

Re: Container house?
Thx all. Yes I am very familiar with the container restaurant as we like to eat there.
I will check out the hotel. We have friends that bought a stainless steel container in Australia when they moved back to Hawaii and planed on using it as a tiny home. Can't wait to see it!

This has been a fun way to delay pruning bugambilia.

Phone shows a Guadalajara cell number.
They are both selling containers and converting them. I have seen the pool with the window in it before.
I would only buy a container if it was HIGH... that means a 9'6" height... most of the standard size are only 8'6" in height.
