Woodworking classes for adult men & women begin Sept. 9

Come join the fun at an exciting new class beginning at Hammer School of Carpentry. Adult men & women woodworking classes will begin September 9. Act now because classes are limited to just 6 students.

Two different levels will be offered. Beginners will attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 until 9:30 a.m. Intermediates attend on Mondays and Wednesdays also from 8 until 9:30 a.m. Sessions last 8 weeks and cost 250 pesos per 1.5 hr. class which includes instruction, the use of all tools and materials.

Proceeds from the adult classes help to provide scholarships for Mexican children to learn a life skill in either carpentry or carving at Hammer.

The workshop classroom contains high-quality machinery including bandsaws, table saws, lathes, sanders, jointers, planers, drill presses and more.

Projects created in the workshop can either be taken home or donated to the bazaar next door to benefit the children’s programs.

Hammer is also seeking experienced woodworkers needed to volunteer to help with classes.
