Possible CFE shakedown

So a supposed CFE employee rings my door bell saying he is investigating power theft. He spoke no English at all. He was wearing a CFE shirt and had an ID badge. I called a Spanish speaking friend to come and talk with him. He told my friend that by looking at my wires there appears to be some theft going on but if we wanted he could fix it before the engineers came over to investigate. My friend basically told him to piss off and told me to take a picture of the guy. When I pulled out my phone he tried to cover the ID and pulled his sunglasses down. After I took the pic he said everything was good and took off.

CFE looking for mordida was a first for me but my friend instantly knew what was going on and called him on it.

Wow. This is a new one. Wonder if he really is a CFE employee? If he is he shouldn’t be one anymore.

Yes you will notice he tried to cover the picture with his thumb.

Just a thought and it's entirely up to you... but, do you think it would be appropriate to go to the CFE office and speak to the higher ups? That would not be the main customer service entrance but the offices to the left of the entrance where you have to be signed in by the guard to speak with someone. I'm sure they may like to know that someone is pulling this stunt... at least they would be talking to the owner of the identification to get his story.

No, there was no CFE vehicle nearby. I am looking into the best way to report this to the CFE.

Well I have already posted it on here and all over Facebook along with the name and picture. If he comes around here again he may not like the results.....

The denim shirt is a nice touch. They all wear them.

I may have intimidated this guy more than he intimidated me. Now he's on the Chapala's most wanted list with the mayor and delagado both taking an interest in this. I even got a call from Hector Espana thanking me for posting the pic of the perp.

Way to go CBob! Genius move on your part and way better than going to CFE directly.

I did report it to CFE via their website. Hector was going to be talking with them too.
