They have only pinpointed Constitucion/Ocampo as the road needing repair in Ajijic. I would say just about every road, other than Colon and Revolucion, need repairs. 16th de Septiembre/Indepencia are a muddy, pothole mess. With the LCS and many hotels/B&Bs on this street it easily gets as much traffic other than no buses. Then you have 3 or 4 north/south streets which are also well used thoroughfares that are also horrible.

We came in , n 2001 and the roads have never been as bad.. Before after each rain a crew of locals would trplace the stones but no more..

They need to get rid of the stones on all major roads within Ajijic village. Replace them with pavers and speedbumps like all the other Pueblo Magico towns. Maybe next time they could get the designation.

I do not have a problem with the stones if the roads were kept up but they are not so they need to do something.. I think the Pueblo magico program is gone so no more worries or argument about that one.. One less thread..

The downwash toward the lake on most of these streets is strong enough at times to rip pavers and concrete right up. The majority of these streets were, I believe, arroyos before they became "streets". Chapala does not have that worry in the central area, but they do up the mountainside, and so most of those streets are still cobbled.

Co!on, Revolucion and the street on the other side of the plaza where they did cemented stones have held up well so it's doable. Revolucion is the best example of how they should be done.

Lower Revolucion may be a good example but try driving up upper Revolucion. Whole different ball game.

Lower Revolucion was the intended example. I seem to recall it didn't even cost that much.

pavers like in Chapala .... can fix any problem like pipes easily and then replace the pavers ...... the water drains between them too

Lots of new patches on the libramento. The city of Guadalajara has finally woken up to ban semi-trailers in the central area, forcing to use the new bypass, which charges tolls. They also building a second ring road closer to the city.
