Has anyone had difficulty in renewing a 2 year plan at AT&T? Were you able to keep your current number?

Beware the Bastards.

They treated me as a new subscriber - new SIM card and phone number. Also twice the price of two years before. Comparable to Telcel

When I protested that I wanted to retain the same number I ported to them from Telcel two years before they shrugged their shoulders and gave me a number to call. No success after 20 minutes on the phone with a At&T rep.

For a refund I had to appear in person at their office in Guadalajara.

So much for competition. They both dropped to the lowest common denominator.

I renewed my ATT cel in January and got the same deal as 2 years before - pay for a year and get a year free with the same cel number I had with Telmex. Were these issues recent?

About 6 months ago. I paid over 4,000 pesos for two years service. Guess the kids in the store bamboozled the old geezer.

That’s what I paid and I still have the same number. That’s what it costs for 2 years service. It’s what I paid before. I paid at the place across from the big Telcel store in the mall where Black Coffee is. I think I’m missing something.

There are lots of folks that got ripped off by the bad employee at ATT in Chapala. Do a search on both boards and or ask kiko on this board.

When it came time to renew my AT&T plan, I went to the new office across from Bugambilla Plaza next to Alex's Pasta Bar. Knowledgeable and professional service. Pulled up my account on their screen and the plans I could renew including the 2 year plan I had. I previously used the store in Centro Laguna, and quite frankly, I got the impression they really weren't sure of what they offered.

When I first got the plan I bought it from the guy when they had the office across from Farmacia Guadalajara on the way into Chapala. For some reason, he didn’t rip me off but I know he screwed over others. Then they closed that office. So Sunfan, did you lose all your contacts when they switched SIM cards?

Thanks to all for your feedback. We originally opened the accounts in Chapala and luckily did not get ripped off. This is our second renewal. We will make it next to Alex's pasta bar since they seem to know what they are doing.

I think I had the contacts loaded in the Samsung "cloud" so I could recover them.
