During August and September there is a mushroom festival in El Tuito which is about an hour south of PV.

Interesting but I like my mushrooms sautéed and served over a filet.

That would be a great way to consume them. You will laugh for hours afterwards.......

Spent many lazy month living on a beach in Costa Rica, picking mushrooms in the mornings and skin diving in the afternoons. Nothing has ever come as close to heaven as those high flying times.

What a good time that must have been! What beach? I knew CR too and our favorite beach was Mar Azul on the tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. Where were you?

Good times indeed. I had a hooch in the Gringo Gulch on Coco Beach in Guanacaste. Stayed there off and on '71 - '79 with lots of side bar trips to Golfito (Capt. Tom's) 'Resort', Colombia and the west coast ports of Mexico. Coco Beach was about 80 miles north of your stompin' grounds eh?

That's right! Beautiful Guanacaste. We were there, ex and I - to pick a place to retire and explored the country top to almost bottom 3 trips, several months, after you, mid 90's. Kept returning to Mar Azul. Actually, Mal Pais was the area, Mar Azul was where our cabina was. Took forever to get there - bus from San José to Puntarenas, spend the night and boat to peninsula at dawn, bus from that port up into the mountains, red pickup truck out to Mal Pais. Still think about going back.
Pura Vida, eh?

Extreme example if some drugs become decriminalized.
