CLOSE TO ADIOS AND HOUSE FOR SALE
CBOB suggested I post this here, so I have "official permission" to be in the wrong pew, initially.
I don't know when it will be, but since I've been directed by my cardiologist (Dr.Briseno) to move to a much lower altitude for heart and lung problems (or else), we will be moving to the Pacific coast as soon as our house sells.
For anyone interested in my lovingly restored old home, here's the MLS listing. If anyone is interested, please contact my listing agent . Nice guy; not into hard selling.

And.....I'll miss Y'all.

Louise and I are sorry to hear the news, but hope the move is an easy one for you. You are now about to joint the 'low elevation club'.

I will miss you Gringal… a LOT! However, I fully expect you to keep posting since it won't make a difference except from where you post. And I sincerely hope that the lower altitude will much improve your health and quality of life.

Hope you can still post from time to time. That Dr. Briseno, maybe he just wants to come down and mooch margaritas on your deck.

Dr. Briseno can mooch a margarita any old time. Good doc; tells it like it is and was NOT looking for an opportunity to cut and charge $$$.
We're looking at the Melaque area; specifically La Manzanilla - a semi-small town with a bit of "artsiness" and a beautiful walking beach with a stiff breeze often blowing to mitigate the humidity:
Beach cam to follow in next post.

Re: CLOSE TO ADIOS AND HOUSE FOR SALE
Ok, I'm jealous. How I'd love to move back to the beach. Good for you, Gringal, for taking such a big step and I hope your health problems diminish and disappear with the move.
La Manz, one of my favorites places. I predict you will be happy there and will become a major player in the art scene there too. There's some good eats in La Manz as well.
Please take a us along with you on your new adventure, we will miss you.
Happy, happy trails! Don't let the crocks getcha!

Well, there goes the neighborhood! Happy landings Gringal and any clues where that landing might be? Candace and I will miss you two and hope we can at least stay in cyber touch. Oh and how about all your paintings and hubby's photography? Are you going to have a art showing/sale or maybe the mother of all garage sales? So many questions...

Re: CLOSE TO ADIOS AND HOUSE FOR SALE
First, you may be stuck with me for as long as it takes to sell this fine house...may it not be too long.
If you know the area, you know why I don't feel too sorry for myself. Yes, there's an annual "Art Crawl" and I've heard about the good restaurants.
It's a popular snowbird wintering spot, so plenty of vacation rentals nowadays in the hot season.
I've spent nearly all my life living at sea level and didn't know my body wouldn't adapt to first, SMA, and then, here. When visiting the coast last month, I felt MUCH better. There's more air in the air!!

We'll be taking "everything" when we move, including the paintings and photography, and hopefully, will locate an outlet or find a place where we can have "by appointment" showings. We did Open Studios this year...and that was ENOUGH since we had 688 visitors in our house over the February weekend.
As mentioned in a previous post, we're zeroing in on La Manzanilla as a destination.

Have you checked out the doctors there? We are fortunate to have so many good ones here.

Dr. Briseno is giving me the name of a cardiologist in Manzanillo. La Manzanilla has a shortage, but it's close enough to Melaque to find medical services. Hopefully, I won't be needing as much, and at my age....any amount of time is good enough.

Re: CLOSE TO ADIOS AND HOUSE FOR SALE
We are not always aware of how much altitude affects our bodies. When I get anywhere close to sea level, there is just too damn much air. I was born in Denver and am miserable at low altitudes.
Best wishes for this new chapter, your wit and wisdom will be missed.

Sorry to hear about your health issues, gringal, and that they force you to re-locate. I've "known" you by internet for probably 15 years or so....going way back to MexConnect. La Manzanilla is a nice beach town. I hope you enjoy it. Good luck with the house sale.

Certainly is AND it has a D.Y.N.A.M.I.T.E. location opposite the LCS and walking distance to downtown Ajijic and all the excellent restaurants. I think it will be gone very quickly.

Glad you like it,and hope someone buys it soon. Having it on the market feels a little like walking around nekkid.
We were never going to leave in this lifetime, but the saying is true: life is what happens while we are making other plans. Knowing us, we gluttons for punishment will try to make the next house beautiful, but I'll surely miss this one as well as all the online friends I've made over the years; some going all the way back to 2004 and Mexconnect. It's been a pleasure. Thanks.

Re: CLOSE TO ADIOS AND HOUSE FOR SALE
Nekkid is correct. And everywhere has to be maintained impeccably clean. It's stressful.
Ya do what ya gotta do. That's why we sold the beach house to be closer to hospitals in Guadalajara.
As far as "renovating" goes and making a house a home, I get that too. To quote an old Scottish saying "when your house is finished, the hearse is at the door". Besides I love doing it.

There's something rewarding about "saving" an old house that once was a fine family home, but had fallen on such hard times that cheap plywood doors were peeling and the bathtub leaked all over the floor. The contractor suggested tearing it down: it was that bad. However, it had the marble-like stone stairs, the huge fireplace that never smoked, the plumbing that allows "flushing all", along with the great location...and we were suckered in. Money-wise, we should have let him tear it down.
