Car City used to have a bad rep. Better now?

I've used Roberto (Beto) Hernandez from Hernandez Llantera - located beside Tony's in San Antonio Tlay for the last 18 years. Always honest, reasonable and speaks great English.

I am a pretty good backyard mechanic so can usually diagnose the problem. When I arrive I ask them to fix what I know is the problem. They have always done professional work at a reasonable price for me. I also know they have all the correct tools (proper hoists, alignment device, OCB testers, etc.) They always get my jobs done same day. They will also install parts that I can get at better prices than then (like when Autozone has a sale on struts and shocks)

Re: Car Oil Leak
When I first arrived in 2010 I went to Car City for an oil change. When they tried to charge me for 6 litres of oil for my Ford Freestar I pulled out my owners manual and pointed out that it took about a litre less than that. I asked then to take out a litre of oil or charge me for 5. They quickly revised the bill. I have never been back. Now I take the required oil and filter to a garage and get them to do the work.

I use Felipe Morales right next door to Telecable in Riberas. I've been with him for several yeas, and find him to be reliable and honest.
Cheers,

Re: Car Oil Leak
Car City pulled that same stunt on me once, and could not produce the empty oil containers for the brand they claimed to have put into my vehicle. I suspected that they were using oil from a drum. I could not determine the brand or specification. I never went back, either, and the place has since changed hands, I think.

Re: Car Oil Leak
I used Felipe as recommended. A simple oil plug plastic washer that was cracked. They put in a new metal washer. Out in 15 minutes. I will definitely go back !

Yeah, Felipe and Rosie are the best. Very honest and they have gone over and above so many times for me I can no longer count.
