Ilox installation

Placed the order in the Ilox office on March 8.  Staff in the office said installation would be 2 months.  Guys show up today (March 16) to do the installation.  And although I didn't get a call or email warning, I can be very flexible for better internet speed.  The guys didn't speak much english but we managed just fine.  They were done in an hour and a half.  Now happily getting 39.2 down and 9.5 up.  Feels like warp speed.   I signed up for the phone/internet package "Doble Full 40x30" for 399p per month.  I used a US credit card for the repeating monthly charge.

What’s involved in the installation?

There are probably over 300 folks, who paid a year in advance a year ago to ensure that this service could/would be implemented at Lakeside, who are saying “you signed up when and got it when!?!”

I’m sure you’re correct and had I paid in advance I would be one of them. Maybe the OP had a neighbor who had done that and the installers or the office figured that while they were in the neighborhood...

general location - tabacone? Moving soon & getting Ilox is high on my criteria list..

Installation consisted of running the wire from the telephone pole to the house and to the room and place where I wanted the modem located, prepping each end of the cable for connection, connecting the cable to the modem and box on the telephone pole, a phone conversation to assign this modem to my account and checked to show me that the phone and modem were working and that's basically it.

I'm in upper La Floresta.

I've configured one Ilox installation as of last week, and am looking for more information to help future customers. It was widely reported that the installation fee was $400p. My client said he paid no such fee. However, he is having memory troubles. He also got the phone/Net package, and Ilox techs plugged his phone into the Ilox modem. He is using the same number as TelMex gave him, and yet... because his TelMex is still active... he can use both the Ilox phone and the TelMex phone. I'm not sure how this can happen. One assumes the number would have to be transferred.

So at this moment I have no way of knowing if Ilox did the transfer and TelMex is just slow, or what.

The office is located on the same street as the Ajijic tiangus (Wednesdays). Ilox office is just to the south side of Sol y Luna (mail service). They have a big sign ... easy to see.
