Need upholstery & drapes Empty Need upholstery & drapes

Post by barbicheesecake Tue Jan 08, 2019 6:12 pm

I have heard good things about Las Vegas Upholstery in Ajijic. Has anyone had experience with this establishment?

Husband and I need draperies for 6-7 windows and need upholstery for one sofa and one love seat that coordinates with the drapes. Does anyone know if Las Vegas can take care of both jobs?

If not, any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

They did the interior in my VW. I was happy with the work for the price I paid. I'm not sure if they do draperies.

The best drapery person that I know of is Mari Chuy of Jazmin. Located behind Actinver and across the street from Farmacia de Guadalajara. Excellent work and even does pinch pleated drapes and has the proper three pronged hardware for them. Fabulous choice of fabrics (in books). She also made the thermal liners for the drapes she previously made for me. Keeps out the hot and the cold. She also does loose cushions. She did the seats for my wing backs with a choice of piped or not piped.

As far as I know, she does not do upholstery. But, having said that, you could probably find the fabric for upholstery there. There are many places that do upholstery but not drapes and Mari Chuy, imho, is the best for drapes (curtains).

I believe draperies and upholstery are two different professions in Mexico.

For upholstery you would need a tapicería. Miguel in the shop next to the bamboo furniture store in Riberas is good and the one at the end of Gonzalez Gallo in Chapala is very good.

I have no idea about draperies.
