Re: Shriners Hospitals for Children
Wonderful organization. Edited to add that my Dad was Master of his Lodge (buried in the apron) and was a Shriner. The nuns at my high school donated the land next to my school to the Shriners to build their hospital and if you’re familiar with St. Louis county, you know the land it now sits on is extremely valuable. No cash registers in those hospitals. An immeasurable amount of good is done by these guys wearing those funny hats.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY RAISED BY THE LAKE CHAPALA SHRINE CLUB ?
Compared to Shrine Clubs in the U.S. and Canada, our Club is relatively small, but very active. Our biggest activity is helping lakeside children with medical problems, either at the Shriners Hospital in Mexico City or locally at Lakeside or in Guadalajara.
Here are the statistics for our Shrine Club in 2017:
Trips to Shriners Hospital in Mexico City - 71
Local examinations lakeside/Guadalajara - 80
Total …….. 151
Shrine Club Funds spent 2017…….$355,000 pesos*
* Includes $51,100 pesos contributed by Niños Incapacitados
…………………………………………………….
Statistics from 2006-2017:
Patient family trips to the Shriner’s Hospital in Mexico City - 1,054
Local examinations for Patients Lakeside and Guadalajara - 771
Total Patients ………….. 1,825
Shrine Club funds spent……..$3,530,922 pesos
The Lake Chapala Shrine Club pays for all of the family transportation costs to Mexico City and the child’s local medical expenses which amount to thousands of pesos each year.
Your continued support at Shrine Club fundraisers is most appreciated.
THANK YOU !!!

For those who can’t attend and just want to make a donation how may we do that?

Good question, Lady Otter Latte', I too would like to donate to the Shriners later this month or in early January.

Re: Shriners Hospitals for Children
I'm a Past President (2016) of the Lake Chapala Shrine Club and would be pleased to pick up any donation. I would bring lots of ID and even wear my "upside down flower pot" (Fez).
PM me to make arrangements to suit.
Alternatively, you can drop off a donation with our club's Treasurer, Cesar RUBIO who is the manager at O'Rourke and Associates, located in the lower level of Centro Laguna Mall, between HSBC and Black Coffee.
