So what's up with the helicopter?
Last night it appeared to land in or near the soccer field/bullfighting ring area in Ajijic centro. This morning I heard it hovering around again, wife says it landed there again.
Anyone know why?

Maybe dignitaries came for the night and returned this morning.
I heard it but didn't see it, was it black?
Hopefully.

Didn't appear to be military or official, but I didn't get a good look in the daylight.

No such luck, apparently it was a another shootout. Here's a bad translation from Semenario:
"It was reported a shootout in "El Tempisque", between San Juan Cosalá and the community of El Chante, in the town of Jocotepec, today past 8:00 pm.
Unofficial information indicates what a dead individual. Apparently the police was following a pickup truck. The Chase ended in shooting. Several versions are handled due to fear of the people. The authorities have not issued a statement.
At a time when more information."

Two things:
1 - the helicopter was on the east side of Ajijic centro - not sure how that would have anything to do with Joco
2 - Do you have an actual link to this news article? I can't find it anywhere on their web site or Twitter feed...

Odd that the first response was a gif of Pinnochio's nose growing...
Also, why would an individual death/shooting in Joco require a helicopter? Twice?
Doesn't seem related, to be honest.

I don't have to like it. It just needs to fit.Lady Otter Latté wrote:Well then, continue searching for an answer you like and then let us know.

When you find the one that fits for you let us know. I am curious what it will be. You appear to believe events should happen in a logical order and for reasons you can understand. I may have lived in Mexico too long because I no longer do.

I know nothing but my guess would be something like - cops see bad guy/s, Chase them into the hills of Tempisque, gunfight ensues and one person gets hit (maybe cop), and the others scatter into the hills. Chopper is summoned to scour the hillsides but find nada. It gets dark, chopper returns to Guad and next morning when light chopper returns to continue search.

That's a great story, but the chopper came in from the east (Chapala direction) and landed in Ajijic in between Centro and La Floresta. It left 15 minutes later. It returned the next morning, did the same thing. Never went west of Ajijic.

The chopper came in at night, dropped off El Jeffe for a humma humma, then it picked him up the next morning. You'd think everyone would be happy, eh?
