Pete, I had to read your post several time. You actually keep on armed guard on property at night when you are home!
Guess this area is really safe......

I wouldn't live in an area where I felt I had to keep an armed guard on site. Would you?

No! And if I had so much valuable stuff in my house that I had to hire an armed guard to protect it I'd get rid of it.

It's a conundrum: people mostly want money so they can have "valuable stuff". Then, they worry about the "valuable stuff" getting stolen. They want to live in an upscale neighborhood, which is the first place thieves head for. It's a no win situation, in its own way.

It was a no-brainer for me. Got rid of most things of value when I moved here and when my mom died got rid of the rest. Diamonds and gold don't fit my Mexican lifestyle. Daniel Jackson was very happy.

Former active poster Hound Dog aka Bubba, by far the funniest and wittiest person to ever grace these pages once offered the only real way to prevent home burglaries was to have a 200 lb t.v and a $10 VCR in your living room. Typical Bubba, crack you up while passing on sage advise.
Hopefully we might be able to conjer him back.

One of the great things about this security guard is that whether I am there or not I have someone to feed and watch over my 3 cats and 3 dogs.
Oh, and on my desk for the robbers are three older laptops, that have had their hard drives removed and although plugged in, they are quite old and non workable, but look very valuable.
And Bubba, where are you? You used to put me in my place so beautifully. We all miss you :)
