Important question: top price you can pay. It's a tight market, even in the "low season".

Plenty of hotels and B&B's in that price range..no problem for Sept...

Here's a couple of nice places in Ajijic where you'd be on a quiet street within walking distance to everything and they all have web sites:

I haven't noticed any difference. I take a daily walk on the lakeside Malecon in the morning. Those living up on the hills have complained more about bugs.

If you want to pamper yourself check out Villa Corona. 5 star accommodation that's just slightly more than the others in the area.
