Does anyone know where to have the handicapped restricted parking sign made? The blue and white one for a post in the street. I have the permit but they said they didn't know where to have one made?!!?!! Hard to believe but no info forthcoming from them.
TIA

Maybe try the sign shop by Rose Bowl Mall, on the bottom floor .

On public streets, don't they have to be installed by governmental authorities, such as Vialidad or the Ayuntamiento. They are scattered around Chapala public street parking in different locations.
Private property shouldn't be a problem, even NO PARKING.
If you have a an exclusive parking permit for a public street spot, it doesn't matter if it's incapacitado or not.  Just paint it yellow with the permit no.
Enforcement is the problem, just ask the management at Costco. lol!

If you have the yellow curb and permit number do you just have to call a towing company or do you still have to go through Vialidad to get the vehicle towed?

Good question Bob, we have a P.O.S parked on a busy street down from our house for 4+ years..Flat tires, bird crap, etc. I have been to the transito's and city hall without success..I have even thought about giving one of the Gysa towing guys a few hundred pesos to make it disappear..There are a lot of these junkers around the village and they continue to just stay put forever..

I am speaking more about the process for those that have a "permitted" parking spot with an interloper parked in it.

The abandoned junk parked in non-permitted spots is a different story. I would pay a tow guy to make it disappear if it were near my house too.

Good question Bob, but don't have any actual experience, or know of anyone, who has.
Private property, no question, you can have it towed. Public property, with permit, I am guessing you would have to call Transito.
Once I parked in a bus stop (public street) and the bus driver/company called (had to, I was told) Transito to have me towed.
Private citizens can't have vehicles towed on their own volition from public prohibited parking areas, so I doubt they could for permitted  public areas without Transito.

We have been told to call la grua, and they will come. We have explicit instructions on where/how and what to do. Came home yesterday and someone in our spot...tooted car horn...man came running and moved his car...sometimes I have to wait a bit. The worst offenders seem to be foreigners who DON'T bother to learn the local traffic laws!
